ABOUT
UNIWA. is a landscape gardener located in Kokubunji City, Tokyo.
We provide services such as garden maintenance, overall garden management, and proposal and construction of gardens.
Throughout the year, we strive to maintain the best possible condition for your garden,
incorporating your preferences and providing appropriate care based on the seasons and plant species.
SERVICE
Pruning
Pruning involves lowering the tree height, removing unnecessary branches, and shaping the tree into a natural form. This allows for better airflow and sunlight penetration into the inner parts of the tree, minimizing the occurrence of diseases and pests and ensuring the best possible condition throughout the year.
Planting
We will inquire about your garden's image and preferences, then suggest trees that match your garden's concept. We recommend this service for those who prefer low-maintenance gardens or for those who want to change the image of their current garden.
Weeding
We offer the option of both machine weeding and hand weeding. Generally, hand weeding involves using a sickle or scythe to cut the weeds at their roots. Machine weeding, on the other hand, removes only the visible parts of the weeds on the surface of the ground. This allows for cost savings.
*Hand weeding is recommended during the fast growth period of weeds in spring to summer, while machine weeding is preferable during autumn to winter.
Tree removal
We perform the felling and uprooting of unnecessary or overly grown trees.
*Please note that uprooting may not be possible in some cases due to root size and site conditions.
Fertilization
We will consider factors such as tree species and sunlight exposure to determine the appropriate fertilizer.
(For example, we will determine whether synthetic fertilizers or organic fertilizers would be more suitable for your specific needs.)
Trimming
Trimming, also known as shaping pruning, involves trimming the outline of the tree. It focuses on removing unnecessary branches and does not involve lowering the tree height. This method is suitable for creating topiaries or shaping designs like spheres. It is also used for creating privacy hedges, which serve as a visual barrier.
Lawn mowing
Lawn mowing involves using machinery to cut the grass evenly. After mowing, we use a rake to remove the thatch layer that has accumulated along with the debris generated during the mowing process, leaving the lawn clean and tidy.
Weed control
Using wood chips for your garden can help suppress weeds around your plants. Compared to typical commercially available options, these coarser wood chips provide a natural finish, blending well with the soil due to their earth-toned color. They are environmentally friendly, as they decompose naturally, although they may not completely prevent weed growth.
This method offers a convenient and stylish approach to weed control in you garden.
Pesticide spray
For trees that have been shaped through pruning and trimming, the dense growth of branches inside the trees can limit airflow and sunlight penetration, leading to an increased risk of diseases and pests. Therefore, we suggest the application of pesticide sprays. There are various types of pesticides available, and we will consider the specific types of diseases and pests, as well as your living environment, in order to determine the appropriate pesticide for your needs.
Pruning lessons
We offer on-site pruning lessons for those who want to learn how to prune their own trees or take care of their gardens.
We also accept requests for tasks not mentioned above.
Additionally, we can provide assistance in English as well.
If you have any concerns or issues with your garden, please feel free to consult with us.
